McKenna Rupp was our waitress last night as we dined at the most beautiful restaurant. She took very good care of us, made sure we had everything we needed in an appropriate amount of time and we could not have had a better night. The food was delicious, the drinks were just as good. 10/10 restaurant and staff. We will be coming back to try again soon!

We absolutely love dining at Macanda! Colita is one of my favorite restaurants, and Macanda has the same level of food PLUS the lake view! Obsessed with the scallops and tartare dish!

We chose Macanda to celebrate my birthday and was able to get a reservation for our family of 5 at a reasonable time. It also happened to be Restaurant Week so I chose my meal from their exclusive menu. It was nice having more selections that were gluten-friendly. As well as food that our twin 3 year olds and 6 year old would eat. The restaurant did get busy but we ordered pretty quick knowing we had borrowed time with the kids. The server was busy with other tables but we didn't mind. After we ordered we were pretty focused on our family and entertaining the kids. The atmosphere was lively and great for dates to meeting up with friends or business gatherings. Versatile space and beautiful view of Lake Minnetonka.

We were there with visiting family for a dinner out during the week of Christmas. Our part of six was warmly greeted. McKenna was our server and she took fabulous care of us throughout our meal. McKenna had great recommendations and insightful comments about the menu items. The Corn Esquites is exceptional and the Truffle Edamame was also delicious. All of our meals were fantastic whether steak, salmon or sushi. We would definitely return.

This restaurant is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the warm, radiant smile of Kari/Carey, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. Carmen and Anneliese elevate hospitality to an art form, delivering impeccable service with grace and precision. Then comes the food—each bite a masterpiece, bursting with rich, exquisite flavors that leave you craving more. And let’s talk about the calamari—hands down, the best in town. Perfectly crispy, tender, and seasoned to perfection, it’s a must-try. The ambiance? Simply breathtaking. Every detail, from the thoughtfully designed decor to the inviting atmosphere, creates a space that feels both elegant and effortlessly welcoming. A true gem in every sense.

The other day my friend and I got to try out Macanda. It was our first time dining there and we had a nice experience. The atmosphere was captivating and extremely relaxing, there were wood accents all over and big plants that filled the rooms. We got a table on the Four Seasons patio at 5 pm, it was perfect, we got to watch the sun go down by the lake throughout our stay. The staff was professional and on top of things, as well as overall friendly. For starters, we tried the Arepas, while we weren’t expecting them to taste completely authentic, they didn’t disappoint, along with this we tried the Fried Yuca side, it was great for sharing and pretty delicious. The Honey Bee Espresso Martini is by far one of the best cocktails I’ve tried, balanced and perfectly crafted, I would consider coming back just to order it. For our entrees, we ordered four different tacos, baja fish, tempura shrimp, smoked mushrooms and carne asada. These were all good, nothing revolutionary, but you could probably get similar taste and quality at a small-owned taco place. Along with these, we got a side of the Arroz Verde, we took a bite each and that was about it, it was too much food for us but it was a good bite! To end the night we ordered the Churros to share, served warm with a side of chocolate and caramel, they fulfilled the craving and were pretty delicious, and also paired very well with the last sips of my Martini! Overall, we had a nice time trying Macanda out, I would recommend it for a nicer dinner, my standouts would be the Honey Bee Espresso Martini, Fried Yuca, Carne Asada Taco, and Churros. The four seasons patio makes all the difference, especially on a cold evening!

Macanda continues to raise the bar with their new menu additions. We started with the corn esquites (10/10), not new but always a staple for us — truly the best we’ve had. Creamy, zesty, and perfectly balanced with cotija, lime, and chili, and better than several other versions we’ve tried in the area. The Tuna Tostadas (9/10) were a highlight for us. Unique flavor of tuna with lemongrass chimichurri and a touch of truffle, bringing brightness, umami, and richness together in a perfect bite. The Wagyu Sushi Tacos (10/10) were the standout — melt-in-your-mouth wagyu topped with caviar in a unique bite size presentation. The Kinoko Old Fashioned (9/10) was an excellent cocktail made with Japanese whiskey and mushroom butter, delivering a very smooth, earthy, and complex flavor profile. We tried both the Mexican Roll (8/10) fresh and well-executed but more avocado than I’d care for on a roll — and the Tuna Pico Roll (10/10) which was easily the favorite of the night thanks to its vibrant layers of citrus, spice, and texture. We also tried the Spicy Tuna Maki Roll (7/10). The spicy tuna itself was excellent, but the roll leaned heavy on vegetables, distracting from the quality of the fish. Unfortunately, they were out of the crispy rice we had hoped to try, so we’ll definitely be back for that. We finished with the churros (7/10), which were warm and crisp with cinnamon sugar and sauces, but could have used gelato or whipped cream to really elevate the dessert. Overall, a 9/10 experience — bold flavors, creative combinations, and a menu that keeps getting better. We’ll be returning soon to explore more of the Mexican-focused dishes and see how those have been revamped.
